Betsy refuses to submit to his control and ends the relationship herself. At the games, Betsy falls in love with Czech Jan Cerny and accepts his marriage proposal. Ed warns Betsy that Jan is a communist who will to use her to validate the communist life. Betsy scoffs at Ed's allegations, but is shocked to discover that Jan is exactly doing so. Ed flattens Jan with a right to the jaw. Betsy and Ed marry on a ship as they return home. |
