||Junior fashion designer Carol refuses to marry architect Bill until she proves she “can be equally successful at a job of my own,” believing he won’t respect her otherwise. Carol buys some dress designs from novice Faith, passing them off as her own work, and is promoted at work. Faith shows up later because she needs more money for her sick father, and Bill learns the truth. He breaks up with Carol. Carol sells her wedding trousseau and gives the money to Faith. When Bill finds out, he asks Carol to marry him and she agrees.
