Comment: The Premiani story looks to at least have Kirby layouts, some panels obviously tighter than others (or was Simon adopting Kirby's own "square fingers" style in his inking over others?)/

Comment: I'm inclined to agree that Kirby had some role in that story, as I doubt that Simon as inker alone could Kirby-ize it so thoroughly. Were it not for JVJ's tentatively IDing someone other than Kirby on pencils, I'd see this as Kirby and Simon with a third (and fourth?) hand present as well. However, I'm not too familiar with how the Simon & Kirby studio split up their workflow. (Later, Simon on his own - say, at Sick Magazine - could do some mediocre art that echoed Kirby, but in this story I doubt that he could do the energetic clothes wrinkles (characteristic of Kirby) on top of someone else's pencils. Same with the unsubtle parallel-line shading, which tended to be a S&K stylistic flourish.)

Synopsis: After several embarrassing experiences as a teen, Amy gets a reputation as a “wallflower” at social events and loses confidence in herself. Photographer Bix offers her a job, modelling in a nightclub, and she performs well. Then he reveals it was all a set-up in order to restore her self-esteem. Amy and Bix fall in love.

She decides to elope with Alex instead, but Arthur intervenes. Paula says that she was “lucky in loving the man” that her parents chose for her.

Mary Lou thinks newcomer Wilma has stolen Stan’s affection, but Wilma says Stan merely got tired of Mary Lou’s act: “Men like women to be feminine, but they don’t like them to be dopes!” Mary Lou apologizes to Stan and they reconcile.
